        地球科学是以地球各圈层相互作用及其资源与环境效应为研究对象,多学科交叉融合的一门科学。地球科学既研究过去,阐述地球演化历史,又面向未来,为人类可持续发展提供解决方案,是一门既能拓展人类知识前沿又能服务于人类社会经济发展的综合性、系统性的科学。文章在梳理国际地球科学发展趋势和总结我国地球科学发展现状与科技资助情况的基础上,提出我国地球科学发展应从系统科学和国家需求的视角部署未来发展方向和研究计划。从地球系统整体出发,关注地球系统各圈层、各要素之间的相互作用及其对人类社会经济发展的影响。以“四个面向”引领地球科学领域研究的发展方向,开展有组织的重大科学研究,完善科技资助与评价机制,使研究成果更好地服务于国家重大战略需求。
英文摘要
        Earth Sciences is a multi-disciplinary science, which takes the interaction of Earth's various spheres and their resources and environmental effects as the research object. As a comprehensive and systematic science that not only expands the frontier of human knowledge but also serves the social and economic development of human beings, Earth Sciences not only studies the past and reveals the evolution history of the Earth, but also faces the future and provides solutions for the sustainable development of human beings. Based on the analysis of the international development trends of Earth Sciences and the summary of the development status and sci-tech funding of Earth Sciences in China, this study proposed that the future development direction and research plan of Earth Sciences in China should be arranged from the perspective of system science and national needs; and from the perspective of the Earth system as a whole, while attention should be paid to the interaction of various spheres and elements in the Earth system and their influence on the social and economic development of human beings. It is extremely necessary to guide the development directions of Earth Sciences research with "Four Orientations", carry out major scientific research in an organized way, and improve the mechanisms of sci-tech funding and evaluation, so that the research achievements can better serve the national major strategic needs.

周立华 中国科学院科技战略咨询研究院研究员、博士生导师,中国科学院学部咨询研究支撑中心执行副主任,中国科学院大学公共政策与管理学院岗位教授。主要从事生态经济与可持续发展、环境管理与环境政策领域研究。先后主持国家科技支撑计划、国家自然科学基金、国家社会科学基金、中国科学院战略性先导科技专项(A类)子课题等研究项目10余项,发表论文 120余篇。

ZHOU Lihua Research Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor of the Institutes of Science and Development, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASISD). He is the Vice Director of the Consulting Research Center, Academic Divisions of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CASAD). He is also the Professor of School of Public Policy and Management, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS). His research interest relates to ecological economic assessment of the environmental policy and sustainable development. He has presided more than 10 research projects sponsored by National Key Technology R&D Program of China, National Natural Science Foundation of China, National Social Science Foundation of China, and Sub-project under the Strategic Priority Research Program of Chinese Academy of Sciences (Category A). He has published over 120 papers.

金之钧 中国科学院院士。北京大学能源研究院院长,中国石油化工股份有限公司石油勘探开发研究院教授。国家能源页岩油研发中心主任、中国地质学会石油地质专业委员会主任、国家能源行业页岩气行业标准委员会副主任委员。曾担任中国石油大学(北京)副校长,中国石油化工股份有限公司副总地质师和石油勘探开发研究院院长。长期从事石油地质理论研究和能源战略研究,获国家技术发明奖二等奖、国家科技进步奖二等奖 2项、李四光地质科学奖、孙越崎能源科学技术奖和归国留学人员成就奖;出版专著 15部,发表论文 400余篇。

JIN Zhijun Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). He is the President of Institute of Energy, Peking University, and the Professor of SINOPEC Petroleum Exploration and Production Research Institute. He is also, the Director of China State Energy Center for Shale Oil Research and Development, the Director of Petroleum Geology Division of Geological Society of China, and the Vice Director Member of the National Energy Industry Shale Gas Industry Standards Committee. He is the former Vice President of China University of Petroleum (Beijing), the Deputy Chief Geologist of SINOPEC, and the President of SINOPEC Petroleum Exploration and Production Research Institute. He has long been engaged in research on petroleum geology and energy strategy. He has received one secondclass award of China State Technological Invention Award, two second-class awards of National Science and Technology Progress Award, Li Siguang Geological Science Award, Sun Yueqi Energy Award, and Returned Overseas Scholars Achievement Award. He has co-authored over 400 papers and 15 books.
