传统工艺是历史上形成并传承至今的手工艺，是中华优秀传统文化的重要组成部分，具有十分重要的民生价值、学术价值和现代价值。为传承和加强传统工艺的研究，20多年前的1996年，中国科学院启动了编撰《中国传统工艺全集》这一重大研究项目，到2016年该丛书刊行了第一、二辑的20卷。这部文献性的系列学术专著的出版，属于国家科学文化事业的基础性建设，产生了广泛的社会影响。2017年3月，国务院发布了《中国传统工艺振兴计划》，如何认知和振兴传统工艺，成为多学科学者和社会的一项紧迫任务。为此，本刊以"传统工艺的认知与振兴"为题，力图挖掘和呈现学者们对传统工艺振兴的思考，以期引起更多的关注和支持，增强文化自信和创新自信。该专题由中国科学院自然科学史研究所华觉明研究员和张柏春研究员帮助推进。
作者简介
张柏春 中国科学院自然科学史所所长,研究员。英文学术期刊Chinese Annals of History of Science and Technology主编。主要研究技术史、知识传播史与比较史、科技发展战略等,出版《传播与会通》《苏联技术向中国的转移》《传统机械调查研究》《明清测天仪器之欧化》和Transformation and Transmission等专著。现主持编撰《中国大百科全书·科技史》(第三版)。
