材料腐蚀是生产生活中的常见现象,严重的腐蚀不仅会造成材料失效,还可能诱发猝不及防的灾难性事故。了解与认识腐蚀问题,是保障人民群众生命财产安全的必然要求。为此,中国工程院针对我国腐蚀成本进行了调查研究。数据表明,2014年,我国腐蚀成本为21 278.2亿元人民币,约占当年国内生产总值的3.34%。腐蚀问题可防可控,通过实施防腐蚀顶层设计、加强腐蚀与防护研究、开发新型防腐蚀技术、推行防腐蚀经验标准、提高全民防腐蚀意识等方式,我国腐蚀防护水平将得以全面提升。

The corrosion of materials is a common phenomenon. Serious corrosion could cause failure of materials, and even cause catastrophic accidents. Awareness and understanding of the corrosion of materials are essential to safeguard the people's personal and property safety. For this purpose, the Chinese Academy of Engineering investigated the corrosion cost in China. It was estimated that the cost of corrosion in China was approximately 2127.8 billion RMB (~310 billion USD in 2014), representing about 3.34% of the gross domestic product. The corrosion of materials is preventable and controllable. Preventive strategies are suggested to improve the protection level in China. The strategies include but not limited to a top-level design of corrosion prevention, intensified study on mechanisms, development of new techniques and products, the popularization of relative standards and experience, and promotion of the public awareness of corrosion issues.

侯保荣 中国工程院院士,中国科学院海洋研究所研究员。曾获国家科技进步奖、中国科学院科技进步奖、山东省科学技术最高奖、何梁何利奖等多项奖励和首届"全国优秀科技工作者"等荣誉称号。主要从事海洋腐蚀与防护技术研究,先后主持了"十一五""十二五"国家科技支撑计划以及中国工程院重大咨询项目。

HOU Baorong Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering,Professor of Institute of Oceanology,Chinses Academy of Sciences (CAS).He won a Second Class Prize of the State Scientific and Technological Progress Award,a Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress of Chinese Academy of Sciences,a Highest Science and Technology Award of Shandong Province,a Science and Technology Award of the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation,and "National Outstanding Scientific and Technical Worker".His research focus is on marine corrosion and its prevention.He presided two Key Projects in the National Science&Technology Pillar Program during the Eleventh and Twelfth Five-Year Plan periods,and a Key Consulting Project of the Chinese Academy of Engineering successively.

LU Dongzhu Research Assistant of Institute of Oceanology,Chinses Academy of Sciences.He received B.S.and M.S.degrees from Northeastern University,Shenyang,China,and a Ph.D.degree from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences,Beijing,China,in 2014.He participated in a Key Consulting Project of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and involved in editing a book called The Cost of Corrosion in China.His current research interests include thermal diffusion alloying on light metals,marine corrosion and its prevention of metals,fabrication and properties of metals.His papers have been published in leading academic Journals such as Materials and Design,Surface and Coatings Technology,etc.
