        为摸清全国生态环境状况和变化趋势，综合评估全国生态系统质量与功能，提出新 时期我国生态环境保护对策与建议，服务于生态文明建设，经国务院批准，环保部、中科院联 合开展“全国生态环境十年变化（2000—2010 年）遥感调查评估”工作。目前项目进展顺利，初 步揭示了我国生态系统格局与构成、生态系统质量、生态系统服务功能、生态环境问题特征及 其变化趋势，明确了我国新时期生态环境所面临的问题，可为我国生态国情调查和新时期宏 观生态环境管理提供可靠的科学基础。

        Ecosystems and ecosystem services are essential for human survival and sustainable development. Ecosystem assessment is the bridge to link the findings of ecology and natural sciences with economy and political decision-making. Since 2000, China has been experiencing a rapidly economic growth, accelerating urbanization process, and increasing intension of resource exploitation, which resulted in great impacts on ecosystems and environment of China. Meanwhile, China has made great progress in ecosystem conservation and restoration in decade. For the purposes of discovering the ecosystem status and ecological problems and their change trends in China, approved by State Council of China, Ministry of Environmental Protection and Chinese Academy of Sciences jointly launched the project“National Ecosystem Survey and Assessment of China (2000-2010)”in 2011. The project has been made notable progress. It has been clearly described the ecosystem patterns, ecosystem quality, ecosystem services and main ecological problems, and their change trends of China, which can be the fundamental basis for conservation policy innovation and ecosystem management.
