This paper mainly analyzes the characteristics of the age structures of scientific and technological talents in different fields by studying the scientific and technological contingent of the Chinese Academy of Sciences,as well as the relations between those age structures,scientific and technological innovation and flow of scientific and technological talents.It also describes the significance in management of the scientific and technological talents affairs by using the skill of age structure analysis.
