基础科学研究的能力建设及大科学装置对我们获得世界领先的科学成果、发展引领世界的关键技术、培养在科学上和技术上全面发展的人才具有极为重要的意义，对国家的未来发展是必不可少的。文章讨论了建设引领世界的大科学装置的必要性，目前存在的一些问题，及解决问题的一些建议。

Building our capabilities on Basic Science research and large science facilities are extremely important for obtaining world-leading scientific results, developing world-leading key technologies, and cultivating world leaders on science and technology. It is fundamental for the country. This article discusses the necessity to construct world-leading large science facilities, the current issues, and the suggestions to solve them.

王贻芳,中科院高能物理所所长,中科院院士,第三世界科学院院士,俄罗斯科学院外籍院士。获基金委"杰出青年基金",入选首批中组部"万人计划"杰出人才。获国家自然科学奖一等奖、周光召基础科学奖、何梁何利科技进步奖、潘诺夫斯基实验粒子物理学奖、"日经亚洲奖"、基础物理学突破奖、庞蒂科夫奖等。他领导了北京谱仪(B ESIII)实验、大亚湾中微子实验和江门中微子实验。发表科学论文300余篇,主编著作2部,获发明专利2项。E-mail:yfwang@ihep.ac.cn
Wang Yifang Director of the Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP),Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).He led the design,construction and science effort of the BESIII experiment at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider as the project manager and spokesperson.He initiated the Daya Bay reactor neutrino experiment in China and led its design,construction and science effort.He is now leading the JUNO experiment.He has published more than 300 papers and is a recipient of the Breakthrough Prize in Fundamental Physics,Panofsky Prize for Experimental Particle Physics,Pontecorvo Prize,the Nikkei Asia Prize for Science,Technology and Environment,and Zhou Guangzhao Foundation Award for Basic Sciences.He is an academician of CAS,member of the World Academy of Sciences for the Advancement of Science in Developing Countries,and a foreign member of Russian Academy of Sciences.E-mail:yfwang@ihep.ac.cn
